How we work
To achieve its objectives, MP4s is built on seven complementary Work Packages - WP (including 10 project results - PR), organised in three main phases
Understanding & infusing
Research and survey to create MP4s first mindfulness toolkit for faculty and students.
Building & experimenting
Creation of an orientation and assessment tool and a recognition and certification system.
Enlarging & advocating
Promotion of the inclusion of mindfulness practices in the curriculum, and in all facets of university life.
Phase 1
Understanding & infusing
With WP1, an in-depth cross-sectoral research on the emotional challenges and concerns of students will be conducted to produce a mapping of the main challenges and concerns (PR1) facing students in 2022.
With WP2, a survey of existing mindfulness in education practices will be conducted simultaneously with WP1 in the six consortium member countries, and in England, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Spain and Poland.
Through the practices of the consortium’s certified mindfulness teachers, MP4s will then create its first mindfulness toolkit for faculty and students (PR2).
Phase 2
Building & experimenting
With WP3, an orientation and assessment tool will be created to facilitate the journey towards an engagement rooted in mindfulness and compassion. Based on MP4s PR1 results, this orientation tool will also provide a pre-training image of each potential participant (PR3).
WP4 will then develop MP4s adaptable SIT4PLANET syllabus (PR4). An intelligent and open technological choice will be made to ensure lifetime accessibility and create manuals for trainers and students (PR5 and PR6).
With WP5, an evaluation of learning and impact assessment will be addressed at different levels: from individual to collective levels such as associations, universities, campuses, as well as in society at large. The ability to produce personal work or demonstrate competences will be carefully documented to produce a comprehensive system (PR7), as this is a cornerstone of recognition and certification.
The recognition and certification system (WP6, PR8) will be formulated to reward students who start the awareness-raising pathway and give visibility to their commitment and achievements.
Phase 2
Enlarging & advocating
Recommendations for mainstreaming the SIT4PLANET in universities (WP6, PR9) will then be developed in order to contribute to a welfare-friendly learning environment and a more just world. After the dissemination of the SIT4PLANET outside universities, public policy recommendations will be developed (WP6, PR10) to promote the inclusion of mindfulness practices in the curriculum, and in all facets of university life – non-profit campus activities, governance, management, etc.
