MP4s joins the XIV Lithuanian Sociological Society conference at Kaunas University of Technology | KTU (Lithuania)
This conference will take place at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), Lithuania, on December 2nd, 2022.
The first results of PR1 survey will be presented by Justas Kažys (Vilnius University, Lithuania) during a 90-minutes parallel session entitled: ” The relation of UN SDGs implementation to students’ perceptional and emotional states”.
Session abstract:
Higher education is committed to contributing to the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030. However, what are high school students’ perceptions, responses to the SDG goals and place in their personal lives are almost unknown.
Within the framework of the EU Erasmus+ project “MP4s – Mindfulness Practices for Students in Society”, the consortium aims to fill this information gap with the help of an online student survey.
The survey is available in 8 languages, including Lithuanian. The survey consists of a set of 4 questions – perception of achievement, emotional state towards that result, whether we are heading to the right direction, and your own engagements for SDGs (choosing the ones that are the most important for you).
Students’ involvement in the implementation of a specified SDG are measured from the individual to the international level. Students’ emotional states are assessed using Plutchik’s ‘Wheel of Emotions’.
The results of the survey showed that in all countries, the majority of students recognize the fight against climate change (SDG13 – Climate Action) as a priority goal. The prevailing emotions associated with the implementation of SDG13 are fear, sadness, vigilance and interest.
