Recognition & certification system

PR8 aims to develop guidelines and recommendations for creating a recognition and certification system for the SIT4PLANET course, with a focus on the use of open badges. These badges will certify competences and learning outcomes, promoting transparency and student mobility across Europe.

Initially, the MP4s consortium planned to implement open badges linked to the SIT4PLANET syllabus. However, after discussions with stakeholders, it was evident that many partner universities were unfamiliar with the concept. Additionally, it was determined that for open badges to be tied to ECTS recognition, the issuing institutions must serve as the badge issuers. As a result, PR8 will provide a framework to assist educational institutions in integrating open badges into their systems, particularly on the Moodle platform, and aligning them with the SIT4PLANET syllabus.
