Evaluation and Impact System
This project result emphasises the evaluation and impact assessment of the SIT4PLANET educational kit for trainers, an innovative resource aimed at integrating mindfulness into higher education to enhance student well-being, non-technical skills and engagement with social and climate transitions. The design and development of both the MP4s project and the SIT4PLANET kit were guided by the structured problem-solving approach of the McKinsey methodology, which proved instrumental in systematically addressing complex educational needs and refining the project deliverables through recurrent experimentation and assessment.
The PR7 methodology was developed on the basis of a model often used by Universidade Nova de Lisboa (NOVA): the McKinsey framework.
Applying the McKinsey approach to MP4s enabled the consortium to frame student mental health challenges as a multidimensional issue requiring cross-disciplinary, evidence-based interventions. Through a structured problem-solving process—starting from initial research and hypothesis formulation to detailed analysis and ongoing iteration—the project team developed the SIT4PLANET syllabus as a flexible framework to integrate mindfulness into diverse academic contexts. The educational kit includes key components such as the MP4s Mindfulness Toolbox (PR2), which provides experiential resources for approaching mindfulness, the orientation tool (PR3), which helps students assess their mindfulness knowledge and tailor their learning paths, and the SIT4PLANET syllabus (PR4), which guides academic institutions in embedding mindfulness practices into their curricula.
